Omnibox - The Magic Box in Google Chrome
Omnibox is one of the most prominent features of Google’s new baby Google Chrome.
It is a pretty cool feature which allows you to access bookmarks, history, search and much more from one place. Just type something and you’ll have all of them within no time.
That is more like a magic box =P
So here is a list of some features of this magic box.
Web Search
Search anything using omnibox. Type whatever you want to search and hit enter, chrome will automatically take you to your default search engine for that keyword. See the screenshot below.
Web History
Looking for something in your history, just type it and omnibox would show up the most recent pages who have that keyword in them. Screenshot
Bookmarks
You can find/use your bookmarks using omnibox. Just type something and Chrome will show if you have something related to that word in your bookmarks. This screenshot will clear it more.
Search out of Search Engines
I am not sure if that is the correct title for this feature. It is like if you are looking for something in youtube, type youtube.com and the browser will display a message inside magic box saying ‘Press TAB to seach Youtube.com’. Screenshots !
When you press TAB the magic box or omnibox would start acting as youtube search box, YEAH !
and it would not only allow you to search youtube.com for that keyword but would also show recentl played/searched videos who have that keyword in it. Screenshot below !
Alright, so thats all I have got for you in the magic box for now.
